US corn prices rebounded nearly 2 percent on Tuesday as a heatwave across the US Corn Belt threatened to drag down the yield potential of a crop already hurt by scorching temperatures over the past week. Chicago Board of Trade September corn jumped 1.2 percent to $7.04-1/4 a bushel by 12:07 pm CDT (1707 GMT) after earlier hitting a five-week high of $7.23-1/2. Corn rose for the eighth time in nine sessions.
August soybeans gained 0.2 percent to $13.88-3/4 a bushel after earlier touching a 5-1/2-week high of $14.08. September wheat rebounded from three days of declines and climbed 2.7 percent to $7.08 a bushel, having hit a one-month high of $7.27-3/4.
