A division bench of Lahore High Court here Tuesday stayed termination of at-least 1,173 employees of Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) and Faisalabad and Gujranwala electric supply companies.
A single bench last year had set aside these appointments, allegedly made on political grounds at the behest of then water and power minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf. The petitioners had challenged the appointments for the posts of assistant linemen, meter readers, commercial assistants and naib qasids.
