6.4 percent increase in futures open interest

Total open interest at the futures counter increased by 6.4 percent or Rs 62 million during the outgoing week to Rs 1.02 billion. The futures spreads, however, declined by 323bps on week-on-week basis to 6.25 percent. Trading at the futures counter improved and the average daily volume increased by 18 percent on week-on-week basis to 2.4 million shares.
The top 5 scrips at the futures counter, constituting 74 percent of the total open interest, were POL (on top) followed by Engro, LUCK, FFC and FFBL.
