Punjab chief minister visits first under-construction Aashiyana Housing Scheme

Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said Aashiyana Housing Project is for poor people but we are providing modern facilities in this scheme. The chief minister visited first under construction Aashiyana Housing Scheme at Saroba Attari, disclosed an official on Saturday.
Chairman Punjab Land Development Company, Sheikh Allahuddin, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Additional Chief Secretary, Commissioner and District Co-ordination Officer of Lahore as well as DCOs of Sargodha, Faisalabad, Jhelum and Sahiwal were also present.
The chief minister said that for the first time in the history of the country, this scheme has been launched to materialise the dream of poor men of having their own house. "Besides Lahore, the work on the project of Aashiyana Housing Schemes is also well underway in Jhelum, Sahiwal, Faisalabad and Sargodha whereas these schemes would start in 16 more districts this year and the scope of these schemes would be extended throughout the province.
Shahbaz said Aashiyana Housing Scheme is unique. Houses have been allotted in a very transparent manner through balloting in first Aashiyana Housing Scheme in Lahore. Most modern facilities are being provided in these schemes, which also included construction of schools, hospitals, parks and mosques. The construction of houses is continue in the first Aashiyana Housing Scheme at Saroba Attari and additional land has also been acquired for 1500 houses. In the first phase 500 houses would soon be handed over to lucky persons.
He directed to immediately start the construction work of schools and parks in this scheme and added that a sub-station of Rescue-1122 should also be set up. A bus service for the residents of this scheme would also be started. He disclosed that the project of Aashiyana Housing Scheme is being launched in 16 other districts of the province and directed the DCOs and Divisional Commissioners of the concerned districts to give him a detailed briefing regarding these projects at the earliest. He directed Senior Member Board of Revenue to identify land for Aashiyana Housing Scheme in Rawalpindi as quickly as possible.
