A meeting of the Standing Committee on Cabinet was held on Friday at the Parliament House to consider Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Bill 2009 and the regulation of Generation Transmission and Distribution of Electric Power (Amendment) Bill 2009.
The committee meeting, chaired by Dewan Ashiq Bukhari MNA, took notice of the absence of the movers of the aforementioned bills Humayun Saifullah and others and unanimously decided to postpone the perusal till the arrival of the movers (of the bills) from abroad.
Additional Secretary Cabinet Division requested that both the bills be deferred for the time being as a committee of the Secretary Cabinet Division and Secretary Establishment Division is also finalising recommendations in this regard. However, Pervaiz Khan, MNA did not agree for postponing the meeting by awaiting the recommendations of the Cabinet Committee.
Malik Nawab Waseer, MNA, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Khattak, MNA, Tariq Mahmood Bajwa, MNA, Asma Arbab Alamgir, MNA, Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, MNA, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry MNA, Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, MNA Sheikh Salahuddin, MNA, Pervaiz Khan MNA and Parveen Bhatti, MNA attended the meeting.
