Police arrested former SHO Sattu Katla police station, Ghulam Dastagir who abducted a married woman and married her forcibly after Lahore High Court dismissed his interim pre arrest bail. Dastagir's counsel including Advocate Rai Bashir and others resisted the arrest but Nawankot police arrested the accused.
Muhammad Iqbal of Sattu Katla registered a case against the former SHO and alleged that Dastaghir illegally occupied his house, kidnapped her wife Uzma and forced her into marriage. He said her wife was still in illegal detention of the former SHO. His petition for recovery of his wife was also pending before the high court.
