Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 85,497 tonnes of cargo including 66,654 tonnes of import cargo, 18,843 tonnes of export cargo and 2,211 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 66,654 tonnes comprised of 12,396 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,096 tonnes of general cargo; 3,039 tonnes of bulk cargo and 47,123 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 18,843 tonnes comprised of 8,721 tonnes of containerised cargo; 310 tonnes of general cargo; 7,812 tonnes of bulk cargo and 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels are currently at the berths.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 64,080 tonnes of cargo includes 54,532 tonnes of import cargo, 9,548 tonnes of export cargo and 1,494 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 54,532 tonnes includes 15,871 tonnes of furnace oil; 11,400 tonnes of palm oil; 9,700 tonnes of chemicals and 17,561 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 9,548 tonnes includes 4,232 tonnes of wheat and 5,316 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A container ship namely CV Nele Maersk sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more ships namely CV Hammonia Pomerania and MV Tamil Nadu will sail out to sea on Friday. A total number of seven vessels CV Hammonia Pomerania, MV Fowairte, CV Nele Maersk, MV Tamil Nadu, MV Siam Sapphire, MT Chemroad Wing, MT Neelam Bari and MT Kassos are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, palm oil, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Eight ships namely Glory, Kathec Rickmers, Chrisopigl Lady, Al-Soor-II, CS Summer, Gas Sulawesi, Seena-4 and Kasugta carrying containers, diesel oil, palm oil, LPG and phosphoric acid are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz CV Glory and MT Gas Sulawesi carrying containers and LPG are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday, while a container ship namely CV MSC Aurelie is due to arrive on the same day. A container ship namely CV Maersk Georgia is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Sunday.
