Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Amir Syed Munawwar Hasan on Friday said that People's Party despite having ability to stop bloodshed in Karachi and arrest the killers is protecting them just to win their support while PML-N has joined hands with those responsible for violence and killings in Karachi.
While addressing a gathering here at Mansoora, Jamaat leader maintained that federal and Sindh interior ministers despite having information and proofs against criminals of Karachi is not ready to initiate action against them. "Opposition wanted to materialise its plan through grand alliance like that it worked for Asif Zardari for last three years," he said.
He said Jamaat will hold sit in on July 15 at Gujranwala to protest against US intervention in country's affairs, lawlessness, price hike and unemployment. Likewise, Jamaat will hold protest demonstrations and sit in on July 19 to express solidarity with people of Balochistan, he added.
Munawwar said every citizen is afraid of situation in Karachi, as innocent people are being killed. It appears that there exists no writ of the government in Karachi while rulers are afraid to initiate any action. He said Nawaz Sharif on one side talked about situation in Karachi while on the other hand he has joined hands with the criminals. He further said that media can play lead role in overcoming the menace of terrorism.
