The newly formed 'Founders Group' an outcome of alliance between 'Awaz Group' and 'Jamhoori Group' of the flour millers has elected Dr Bilal Aslam Sufi as its Chairman and Muhammad Khalique Arshad as Co-Chairman. Veteran flour millers Haji Muhammad Bashir has been elected as Patron-in-chief of this newly formed group at its first formal meeting held here on Friday.
The meeting was attended by the flour millers from Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rawalpindi/Islamabad. Speaking on this occasion, flour millers termed the formation of 'founders group' as a good omen for the industry and alleged that the Pakistan Flour Millers Association (PFMA) had gone in the hands of weak leadership and emergence of this new group would once again help industry to grow and develop.
They said that all members of the industry should join hands to ensure development of the sector. Those who expressed their views included Majid Abdullah, Khalique Arshad, Malik Muhammad Javed, Ahmad Shahzad, Sana ullah Durrani, sitting Punjab chairman of PFMA Mujahid Khurshid, Rana Ahmad Ali, Naveed Rana, Rao Muhammad Khalid and others. Speakers also hoped that the group would also work for an equal quota of all the flour mills irrespective of their location. Patron-in-Chief of the new group Haji Muhammad Bashir in his address said that he had always worked for the betterment of flour milling industry and would continue to guide it in future.
