Rotary Club of Pakistan Cosmopolitan (RCIC) on Friday organised an investiture ceremony to confer Rotary's Presidential Collar upon its newly elected President eminent educationist Dr Abdul Basit. The ceremony was held at a local hotel here. Hazem Hussein Abu Shanab, Ambassador of Palestine was the chief guest on the occasion. The ceremony was attended by the members of RCIC and other distinguished guests.
Out going President, Rotarian Shakil H Ansari gave detailed presentation on community welfare projects undertaken, during his tenure as RCIC President in the last year. After the presentation Shakil H Ansari called upon President elect Rtn Dr Abdul Basit to take charge of the club affairs. Chief guest of the ceremony Palestinian Ambassador Hazem Hussein Abu Shanab conferred the Presidential Collar to Dr Abdul Basit. In the acceptance address, President elect Dr Basit thanked his fellow Rotanians for posing confidence in him as the President of RCIC saying it was indeed a matter of privilege and honour for him.
