Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) on Thursday urged the government to execute Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline (IPP) Project as early as possible in order to run the wheel of the industry. "The country is facing gas scarcity mainly because household consumption of gas has been increasing rapidly. To fulfil current demand of gas, government must execute IPP Project," said MCCI President Shahid Naseem Khokhar.
He said that the industrial area here is located on Shershah Road, which has been facing various problems of gas outages. He added that MCCI would co-operate with Sui Northern Gas officials for resolving such problems. He, however, said that the business community of Southern Punjab has been facing severe problem of low gas pressure.
There is a dire need of adjustment in the load shedding schedules. Khokhar said that they are always in need of full support from the business community in overcoming such issues. He urged the government to complete gas pipeline projects, which would help overcome energy crisis.
