The Youth Empowerment Workshop organised by the Punjab Youth Council in conjunction with Microsoft started here on Monday. The workshop is aimed at raising the capacity of student volunteers so that they are better able to serve their community.
The first week of workshops in Lahore will focus on I.T training for 50 volunteers and will take place at the Government Staff College Wahdat Road, Lahore. The next week of workshop will address the media and communication skill development of these volunteers at the new campus of the University of Lahore. In the final week of Lahore workshops, Shirkat Gah will train female volunteers in women's leadership.
The Youth Employment Workshop will build capacity for 50 volunteers of the Punjab Youth Council in each of Projects of Divisions. Volunteers were selected by the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in May of last year for participation in the Chief Minister's Punjab Youth Conference and subsequently for membership of the Punjab Youth Council through a competitive selection process, advertised throughout the province.
