PDWP approves developmental projects costing Rs20082.250mn

PESHAWAR: Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) in its meeting chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahzad Khan Bangash here Thursday approved 35 developmental projects with an estimated cost of Rs20082.250 million.

The meeting was also attended by Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary P&D, members and concerned administrative secretaries. The forum considered 42 projects pertaining to Environment, Food, Water, Higher Education, Sports, Local Government, Home, MSD, DWSS, Road and Bridges, Population Welfare and Health. Seven projects were deferred due to inadequate design.

Approved project included Activity Based Capacity Building of EPA in KP, construction of food grain godowns of 3000 ton capacity in District Shangla, construction of food grain godowns of 2000 ton capacity in District Dir Lower and construction of food grain godowns of 3000 ton capacity in District Tank, construction of irrigation tube wells in District Charsadda, construction of flood protection works and irrigation channels in District Malakand, improvement , construction of irrigation facilities and flood protection works in District Malakand, remodelling, reconstruction of Jue Zardad, Jue Sheikh and Kurvi canal patrol roads passing through PK-09 and PK-13, construction of canal patrol roads and flood protection works in Tarakai, Dobian and adjoining areas in District Swabi, establishment of 20 government colleges (Male and Female) (Phase-V), support to SBBU Women University Peshawar and upgradation of existing university campuses to a full fledge university at Chitral, provision of hockey turf at D. I. Khan, Swat, Kohat and Charsadda, provision of three Athletics Tartan Tracks at Kohat, D. I. Khan and Bannu and improvement, restoration and rehabilitation of existing sports facilities in KP.

Other projects are community mobilization for WASH Behaviour Change in KP, construction of repair and maintenance workshop for WSSP Solid Waste management Equipment and Machinery Peshawar, revised PC-I of acquisition of land for access road to Joint Police Training Centre Nowshera and Traffic Control System for Peshawar and Traffic FM, establishment of PPP Support Unit in P&D Department, hiring of human resource along with purchase of logistics for implementation of all kinds of pending mutations in computerized database of Mardan along with other revenue related tasks as directed by oversight committee, construction and rehabilitation of Water Supply Schemes Tehsil Haripur, District Haripur, construction of Gravity Flow Water Supply Schemes in PK-56 District Mansehra and feasibility and construction of Utla Dam by Small Dams Organization, drinking water supply scheme in Gadoon area, Swabi, feasibility and construction of Talash Kalpanai Bypass road (10 Km) Dir Lower, construction of BT road from Takia Shekhan to Ghora Baz Garan road (5 KM)via Rajoya, District Abbottabad, construction of a) Makhnial to Kharian Neelan Poto road (9Km) b) Gandian Kamawa Chapra Road (12 Km), District Haripur”, “construction of Sarwar Abad Umarzai Road and Road from Shakh No.4 to Shakh No. 5 via Zarbab Ghari Maira Umarzai and roads in Ucs Tarnab, Hisara Yasinzai, Turnagzai, Serki Tetara, Agra (new) Doulat Pura Kangra Mera Umerzai and Chendro Dag,District Charsadda, “feasibility and design a)Btgm Nehr to Zai b)Katlng to Kudi Noor c)Dubi Ada to Srekh d)Katlng to Qaziabad e)Bakhshali Dheri to Jangirh f) Gazi shek Babuzi g)Charsada to Dheray Baba h)Pir Gari i)Fatima to GGPS j)Main to Bala Gari k)Muhib to HusainMadrasa Mardan, feasibility and construction of a) Chamtalai to Taroghai road, District Swat, b) Garam Chashma to Kandujal Road, District Chitral (9 KM)”, widening and improvement of Tarnawa Kohala Bala Road (35 Km) District Haripur” and construction of Swat Motorway (Land Acquisition), innovative scheme for promotion of Population Welfare Program for achieving SDGs, FP 2020 goal and vision of population policy, purchase of equipment for Institute of Kidney Diseases, Hayat Abad Peshawar, additional works in Peshawar Institute of Cardiology at Hayat Abad, Peshawar and internal installation of Express Line at Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals Swat.

Forum approved nine concept clearances with an estimated cost of Rs13090.014 million. Projects are included purchase of equipment, furniture for Peshawar Institute of Cardiology, purchase of equipment for Institute of Kidney Disease, Hayat Abad, Peshawar, purchase of equipment for newly constructed building of Saidu group of Hospital, purchase of equipment for newly constructed casualty Block, KTH Peshawar, purchase of equipment for newly constructed building of PGMI at HMC, Peshawar, establishment of Children and Maternity Hospital At Charsadda, purchase of equipment for newly constructed additional wards at LRH Peshawar, purchase of equipment for newly constructed building for Hepatitis Center at Nishterabad, Peshawar and standardization of all DHQs and THQs in KP.
