It is a pleasure for me to address the most stakeholder, regulators, and professionals from our most dynamic and ever changing financial sector. This prestigious annual event of EBanking brings together able people and great ideas under one roof resulting in exchange of ideas and fresh input for new trends and policies.
The financial sector in Pakistan is undergoing a lot of changes in response to the needs of today's customers, service providers and regulators. The emerging technology capabilities and acceptance are paving the way for innovative services that promise to deliver value and convenience to customers. The initiatives such as Branchless Banking are making financial services available to a large segment of our population that previously used cash based transactions for their needs.
The incorporation of cellular phone technology and agents based banking in the financial transactions is enabling banks to save cost of establishing physically branch locations, essentially allowing the banking services to become available at remotest locations almost overnight. These types of technologies are enabling the service providers to provide information and services in a highly cost-effective way while having accurate and updated documentation of all transactions that go through the system.
EBanking event provides an opportunity for all stake holders to discuss their experiences and learn about new innovations. I am certain that the visitors of this event will take away with them valuable information and ideas that will help them in making their organisation more effective and efficient.
