Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has decided to launch countrywide 'Defend Pakistan' Campaign in order to thwart threats to national security and solidarity.
Addressing a Press Conference, Chairman, Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Haji Fazl-e-Karim briefed the press about the decisions of Central Shoora of Sunni Ittehad Council and said that Federal as well as Provincial Governments have failed to restore law and order in the country.
He said that the Council has decided to mobilise nation in order to face the challenges. He added that in this connection the first meeting of the Council would be held at Quetta on June 29. He told that other Parties opposing terrorism would also be invited to attend this meeting.
Sahibzada said that conventions of Lawyers, traders, labourers, farmers, students, teachers, doctors and women would also be arranged during next two months." Sunni Ittehad Council also decided to constitute manifesto committee to provide guide lines to resolve the national issues, under the supervision of Sunni Ittehand Council" he added.
He said that the SIC was compiling the Data regarding the incompetency and failure of the federal and provincial governments in providing much needed relief to the people of Pakistan." We would also issue a White Paper in this Regard" he said.
Chairman, Sunni Ittehad Council expressed concern over the character assassination of the Pak Army and other State Organisations and said that it was a deep routed conspiracy to shake the faith of people in their Armed Forces. He said that the SIC also demands transparent investigation into Abbot Abad Operation and incident of Mehran Base. He said that the government should bring forth the facts in these incidents so that necessary remedial measures could be taken to discourage occurrence of such incidents in future. He also demanded deterrent punishment for the officials of the Rangers who had recently killed an innocent person in Karachi. The council also expressed concern over conspiracies hatched against the Atomic Assets and announced that Pakistan nation would defend their strategic assets at any cost.
The meeting also condemned the cancellation of plot meant for the hostel of Markazi Darul Aloom, Jamia Rizvia Mazharul Islam, Jhang Bazar. The SIC also decided to launch a Train march from Karachi to Islamabad against sky-rocketing prices of consumer goods, drone attacks and terrorism on September 11.
The meeting was also attended by Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab, Syed Muhammad Safdar Gilani, Pir Fazal Ayyaz Qasimi, Muhammad Nawaz Kharal, Sahibzada Shujaat Hussain, Syed Waseem-ul-Haq Naqvi, Mufti Muzammal Hussain and Allama Muhammad Ashraf jalali.
