KP allocates Rs 85 million to generate employment opportunities

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has allocated Rs 85 million to generate employment opportunities, and provision of scholarships, market oriented training courses to talented students under the special initiative programme.
In the budget-2011-12, the government has reflected three schemes for provision of employment facility and skill development for youth. The schemes are included, Pakhtunkwa Huner Mand Rozgar, Saturi Da Pakhtunkhwa, and Public private partnership.
Under the Pakhtunkhwa Huner Mand scheme, it will be first ever initiative specifically launching for jobless skilled workers in the province, and certificate holder from vocational or skill development centres. The government will provide interest-free loans worth of Rs 50,000 to 100,000 with five percent general mark-up through Bank of Khyber (BoK), which would be returned within three year. About 30 percent quota has been allocated for skilled women in the scheme.
The directorate of Technical Education, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), and Bank of Khyber (BoK) would extend advocacy services for sustainability and maintaining transparency of the scheme A sum of 30 million has been earmarked for the scheme in the budget-2011-12.
A grant of 0.5 million has been allocated for provision of ten scholarships worth 10,000 to 15,000 for period of two year to talented and outstanding students of Matric and Intermediate level under the Saturi Da Khyber Pakhtunkwa programme.
Similarly, about 50 million has set aside for Public private partnerships, a pilot project, which would preliminary initiate in two union councils, wherein lacking public sector schools.
The funds would be provided to students of grade-IX and X to provide education facility through private schools of the area.
The government has earmarked Rs 0.1 billion for Bacha Khan Akpal Rozar Scheme to continue programme in next fiscal year.
A sum of 50 million is also to receive for continuation of "Benazir Health Support Programme to provide free medical facility to check up of Hepatitis C to poor patients in the province.
The department of technical education is to receive Rs 30 million to continue training programme for talented students in market oriented courses through different centres of excellence to achieve all its targets in financial year-2011-12.
