Message from President Pakistan Russia Business Forum PRBF

On behalf of Pakistan Russia Business Forum, I have the honor to express my heartiest greetings and best wishes to the government and people of the Russian Federation on celebration of its 21th National Day on 12th June, 2011.
Let me take this opportunity to convey my heartiest felicitations and all good wishes on 21th National Day of Russian Federation to the President H. E. Dmitry Medvedev, Premier Minister Vladimir Putin, all members of Duma and Cabinet of Ministers H. E. the Ambassador of Russian Federation in Pakistan Andrey S. Budnik; Trade Representative of Russian Federation in Pakistan Kozlov Yuri Mikhaylovich; Consul General of Consulate of Russian Federation in Karachi H. E. Andrey V. Demidov, Deputy Head of Trade Representative in Karachi Sergey Plyushchov and all diplomats , Staff Members of Embassy, Trade Representative Offices in Islamabad, Karachi and Consulaåte General office in Karachi.
The foreign policy of Russia provides continuity of world development. The vital principals are pragmatism, multi-track approach, compatible with non-confrontational promotions of national interest, setting a positive international agenda.
Pakistan and Russia's historical ties of friendship, respect mutual sympathies and similarities in approaches to principal issues of the contemporary international politics. Both countries are convinced supporters of a multipolar and balanced international order as a precondition to further peaceful development of all countries over the world.
This event comes in the wake of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari's visit to Russian Federation. Among the many positive outcomes of the visit were ramping up economic and political ties in the interests of both countries, Pakistan's invitation to Russia to take advantage of its access to southern seas which will no doubt facilitate economic prosperity of the two countries. President Zardari's program included a tour of Skolkovo, a future high-tech centre outside Moscow billed as Russia's answer to Silicon Valley.
Pakistan and Russia have great opportunities for the development of not only trade relations, but also in economic co-operation. There is vast and potential yet untapped for development of joint-ventures in areas like modernizing and revitalizing of Pakistan Steel, development of Hydel power, alternate energy projects, oil and gas exploration, defense oriented projects etc. Following the recent Presidential visit, Pakistan is considering Russia as one of its major export countries and offering an increase in the volume of traditional export items such as textile, rice, fruits, carpets, footwear and furniture.
Pakistan Russia Business Forum (PRBF) aims to function as a bridge to boost bilateral trade, cultural , social , academic relations through Embassy of Russian Federation Trade Representative Offices of Russian Federation in Islamabad and Karachi and Consulate General of Russian Federation in Pakistan, as well as through Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and all trade bodies under the umbrella of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Pakistan and all Trade Bodies of the Russian Federation.
