Corruption in Wapda: - summons director FIA Lahore

Chief Justice (CJ) Lahore High Court here on Friday summoned Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director Lahore in a petition filed by a citizen Muhammad Yousuf for not taken action against corruption by Wapda authorities in issuing electricity connections for tubewells.
The petitioner alleged that Wapda authorities embezzled Rs 02 billion in sanctioning subsidized electricity connections to farmers. He said an application was filed to the FIA requesting to take action against the corrupt authorities but the agency did nothing in this regard. The petitioner sought directions for investigation in the matter and recovery of plundered public money.
