Death toll in Hangu car-bomb explosion has raised to 39 as four more bodies were recovered from the debris of destroyed buildings on Friday. Relief operation continued for the second day and four bodies were recovered from the debris while two succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The number of injured persons has reached 56. The buildings destroyed in the explosion include district courts, offices of works & services department, District Co-ordination Office, police station, National Bank of Pakistan, press club, mobile phone-company Telenor and a hotel and 30 shops.
Talking to media, DCO, Adil Siddiq and DPO, Abdul Rashid said that a black double cabin pick-up laden with explosive was used in the incident. They said that they had found a clue that where the vehicle used in the explosion had come and would soon trace out the elements involved in the incident. The officials of district administration said that they had found the engine of the vehicle and have traced out where it belonged.
They said that their morale is high and security has further tightened in the wake of the incident. The officials said that Hangu borders three tribal agencies due to which terrorists succeed in escaping after committing the crime.
