Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nasir Ali Khan on Friday said that apprehensions of people should be removed to improve ties with the United States. He said "our relations with the United States could be durable only if the people of Pakistan and parliament feel satisfied".
Talking to journalists outside the Parliament House, he said relations between Pakistan and US suffered a severe blow during the last few days and this could persist in future. He informed that he had received names of 12 judges from the government for appointment of Election Commissioners of four provinces.
He said consultations with Baloch nationalist parties and other opposition parties are being held to evolve consensus on the names of judges. He said after evolving a consensus, names of the judges will be sent to the government by next Tuesday. Chaudhry Nasir said opposition parties would not accept those judges who were accused of corruption and taken oath under PCO and those having political affiliation.
