It is an immense pleasure for me to be at the 8th International Textile Asia 2011 Exhibition, the official Textile & Garment Machinery Show of the Ministry of Textile Industry. Textile sector is the backbone of our economy and holds great importance as it significantly contributes to our exports and foreign exchange earnings.
The present Government has identified Textile as a key priority sector and is making all possible efforts to set the right policies and incentives that encourage private sector investment in value addition and expansion in a bid to gain wider access to the international markets.
The Government of Pakistan reiterates its commitment to the Industry by setting up new Textile and Garment Cities, Development of infrastructure and Institutes for Skill Development. I am sure, we will soon overcome the challenges of sustaining global positioning, enhancing unit value through improved quality and image building and market share by increasing export volume.
I believe Textile Asia is an amazing display of public-private partnership in which each part uses its strength to bring together magnanimous success for Pakistan that would otherwise not have been possible. As a result, the world witnesses a show that reflects the true potential for investment in Pakistan and portrays an image that Pakistan is as good a place to do business, as any other peaceful country. I am thankful to all those who have worked together to put up this great show particularly Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan Pvt Ltd, Jamal's Yellow Pages of Pakistan and TDAP "Trade Development Authority of Pakistan", as without them this endeavour would not have been successful. I wish 8th Textile Asia 2011 a great success!
