Nawab of Junagarh, Khan of Manavadar: diplomatic passports be issued: Senate body
A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) was held at the New Sindh Secretariat here on Monday The meeting was presided over by Chairman of the Committee, Senator Hafiz Rashid Ahmed. An official statement said that the committee discussed various issues regarding privileges of Nawab of Junagarh and Khan of Manavadar States.
It said that the committee was informed by the representative of SAFRON that in the previous meeting, 15 privileges were recommended out of which eight have been accepted whereas the remaining privileges were still under consideration. The committee also recommended that since both the states had acceded to Pakistan therefore, they should be given privileges as was promised. Moreover, the committee also recommended that their privileges be made equivalent to the Nawab of Bahawalpur and diplomatic passports to the Nawab of Junagarh and Khan of Manavadar be issued. The committee also gave the assurance to the Nawabs that Ministry of SAFRON would plead all cases if filed by any one against them, the statement added.
