Scattered rain thundershower in Northeast Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit - Baltistan and Kashmir on Sunday made the weather very pleasant and dropped the temperature enabling the people to enjoy the holiday in open spaces and parks.
In the provincial capital, thousands of people were seen at the Lahore Shopping Festival organised at the sprawling Expo Centre Jauhar Town by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry where an international book exhibition has also been put up to attract people of all tastes, professions and intellectual pursuits.
The Minar-e-Pakistan, Model Town Park, Racecourse Park, Bagh-e-Jinnah and Lahore Zoo were one of the favourite spots where thousands of people thronged with families and friends to enjoy the spring season and cool breeze. Restaurants, hotels, and famous eateries were full of people during breakfast, lunch and dinner times.
Meteorological department predicted rain/dust-thunderstorm at scattered places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwah, Punjab, north-east Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir for today (Monday).
The current three-day spell of scattered light rain has lowered the mercury a bit. Lowest minimum temperature in Pakistan was recorded at Astore 1°C and highest maximum temperature was recorded in Hyderabad and Chhor 37°C.
Minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 19.5°C and maximum remained 29°C. Lowest temperature 11°C in Punjab was recorded at Kamra and maximum 35.4°C at Bahawalpur.
