At least three persons were killed in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis here on Saturday. According to details, a young man was shot dead while other was injured near Nadria Hotel Nazimabad within the limits of Rizvia police station.
The incident took place at Nazimabad No 1 near Nadria Hotel when two friends Saqib, 24, and Hashim, 25 scuffled with Abid while playing carom board at carom shop. Abid, who went after exchanging hot words with them from carom shop, came back with unidentified armed man, who pull his pistol and opened firing on Saqib and Hashim.
Resultantly both sustained bullet wounds and were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where during treatment Saqib succumbed to his injuries. After committing the crime, the culprits managed to flee from the scene. Police said the victim was the resident of Musarat Colony Nazimabad and a labourer, adding that a case was registered against Abid and his other accomplice.
In another incident, two youth were crushed to death near Saleem Centre in the limits of New Karachi police station. Two cousin namely Naushad, 22, son of Yousuf and Mubashir, 24, son of Salah Uddin were hit by a speeding truck (TKB-389) near Saleem Centre New Karachi when they were going on motorcycle (KAE-3710). Resultantly Naushad died on the spot, while Mubashir sustained severe injuries.
Police shifted the body and injured to ASH, where Mubashir succumbed to his injuries. After the incident, the area people gathered on the spot and caught truck driver Mohammad Latif and set his truck on fire. Police registered an FIR 73/11 on the complaint of Naushad's brother Noman.
