HRW wheat bids steady

Hard red winter wheat basis bids held steady Thursday in a still quiet market. Detrimental dryness continued to frustrate farmers worried about production potential for the new crop. USDA on Thursday said US export sales of wheat last week totalled a net 722,900 tonnes, well above estimates for 350,000 to 450,000 tonnes.
Wheat prices stayed strong, though farmer selling remained minimal. Kansas City Board of Trade's May contract ended Wednesday down 10-1/2 cents at $9.39-1/2 per bushel.
