Apropos a news item "BB's assassination: Bilawal unhappy with Malik's report?" carried by Business Recorder yesterday, it has been established without any iota of doubt that no one from the PPP CEC, repeat no one, had shown any sense of dissatisfaction or displeasure, expressed or implied, over the report presented by Interior Minister Rahman Malik about the investigations into the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
All the CEC members and office-bearers, including party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman President Asif Zardari, were unanimous in their appreciation of the report. The newspaper management, which has already initiated disciplinary proceedings against the concerned errant staff member, expresses its profound sense of anguish and dismay over the publication of the said news item.
The newspaper management also conveys to all those hurt/aggrieved by the publication of the said item its sincere apology and profound regret. This highly regrettable mishap, though inadvertent, as it has occurred unexpectedly and unintentionally, has nevertheless necessitated the need for an immediate correction to set the record straight.
