Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader, Senator Raja Zafar-ul-Haq on Monday lashed out at ruling Pakistan People's Party for, what he said, brining the country to the verge of collapse due to their anti-people policies and sabotaging Charter of Democracy (CoD) under which the two parties had pledged co-operation on political front.
He was addressing a party function during which two sitting members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and a former advisor to AJK President announced their joining of PML-N here at the party's central secretariat. Raja Zafar-ul-Haq flayed the ruling PPP and its leadership for their failure to eradicate corruption and bad governance and said that in desperation, the masses wanted PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to come forward and steer the country out of the prevailing crisis. He further said that there was no more mutual understanding between PPP and PML-N after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, adding that the PPP and its leadership sabotaged CoD under which the two parties were in close contact.
He further said that the common man was already facing serious problems due to the increasing inflation while the recent hike in petroleum prices had doubled the miseries of masses. Referring to the launching of PML-N in AJK, Senator Zafar-ul-Haq said that the party wanted to give Kashmiri people their right to govern. He further said that PML-N would not only give right to govern to the people of Kashmir but also take initiatives for their social and economic uplift.
He was of the view that Pakistan would become more strong after independence and annexation of Kashmir with it. He paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of Kashmiri people for their just cause of independence and also reiterated his party's full support to the struggles of Kashmiri people. Earlier, two sitting members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Colonel Naseem (Retd) and Cap. Safaraz (Retd) member Kashmir Council Iftikhar Ayub and former advisor to AJK President, Syed Nasibullah Gardeezi announced to join PML-N. Speaking on the occasion they expressed confidence in the leadership of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and maintained that PML-N was the only political party, which can steer the country out of the current political and economic crises.
