Managing Director, Pakistan Baitul Maal (PBM) on Monday said PBM and Anjuman Hemayat-e-Islam (AHI) would work on various projects for the welfare of orphan children.
Talking to media men after visiting Darul Shafqat of the Anjuman Hemayat-e-Islam (AHI), he said that he would request Prime Minister Gilani to visit the institution and extend maximum help for its welfare. Paying a rich tribute to the political and social figures who were rendering services for the institution voluntarily, the MD said that their services would always be remembered.
Addressing the administration of Anjuman Hemayat-e-Islam, Zumurred Khan said that welfare of orphan boys and girls was the top priority of PBM. "I will try my best to adjust maximum orphan children in welfare organisations run under the Pakistan Baitul Maal (PBM) for their welfare," he said. He announced that the PBM would provide Rs 50,000 to Anjuman Hemayat-e-Islam for the marriage of each orphan girl. He assured that he would visit the institution, whenever he would visit Lahore.
Highlighting the performance of PBM, Khan said that his department had established 'Sweet Home' where 1500 orphan children were living. The PBM was corruption free, he claimed. He said that PBM had so far distributed 70,000 wheel chairs to disabled persons at a cost of Rs 250 million all over the country. He also announced to provide 200 to 300 wheel chairs to Anjuman Hemayat-i-Islam. Earlier, Honourary Finance Secretary of Anjuman, Mian Muhammad Munir briefed the MD Zumurred Khan and thanked him for visiting the place.
