Economic, political independence: chief minister Punjab for strong reliance on national resources

According to news received here from DGPR on Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that living on the charity of others has brought dishonour to the country and has forced it to obey their commands.
He said that Pakistan could not achieve economic and political independence unless it gives up the habit of begging. He said that if free medicines and dialysis facility and projects like mobile health units and Danish schools can be launched with indigenous resources, reliance on others could also be done away with in all other sectors of life. He said that by adopting honesty, austerity and hard work, Pakistan could reach the pinnacle of progress and achieve a respectable status in the comity of nations.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of third Danish School set up at a cost of rupees 700 million in Chishtian, Bahawalnagar during the day, Shahbaz said that despite a passage of 63 years, there is a big disparity between the elite and the common man. He said that while such basic facilities as education and health are denied to the poor, the elite are enjoying all luxuries and privileges. The upper class has done a great disservice to the country and made it a begging nation. Instead of relying on indigenous resources, nation has been compelled to beg and take dictation from others, he maintained.
He said that equitable distribution of resources and bridging the gap between the rich and the poor is essential for progress and prosperity of the country and transforming it in accordance with the principles of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said that there is a need to work hard and display spirit of sacrifice to move ahead. He stressed that 'Uswa-e-Hasna' and 'Misaq-e-Madina' is a beacon of light for the nation and 'Pakistan can be made an Islamic welfare state by adopting the principles of Islam'.
The chief minister said setting up of Danish Schools in the most backward areas of the province is an important step towards transforming Pakistan in accordance with the vision of the founders of the country, adding that credit for this achievement goes to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. He said that when he announced the project of Danish Schools, detractors expressed their qualms. However, Allah Almighty be praised for giving him courage and strength due to which the third Danish School is being inaugurated in the province, he added.
Shahbaz maintained that standard of the schools will be even higher than Aitchison and Grammar Schools and not only in Punjab and in the entire country, aim of national progress and prosperity can be achieved. He remarked that just as children of the poor are denied admission in prestigious educational institutions, similarly children of the rich will not be able to enrol in Danish Schools. He further said that poor but talented students from other provinces as well as Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and Azad Kashmir will be given admission in the schools which will translate the dream of the poor to get quality education. He also said free of cost education, textbooks, uniform, residential and medical facilities will be available to the students of Danish Schools.
The CM announced that foundation stone of Danish Schools in D.G. Khan, Mianwali, Attock and Rajanpur will soon be laid and seven Daanish Schools will be set up during next one year under a phased programme.
He said elimination of terrorism and extremism and eradication of poverty and unemployment is essential for the progress and prosperity of the country and nation will have to forge unity to foil the nefarious designs of anti-Pakistan elements. He added that extremism can be rooted out through promotion of education and Danish Schools will greatly help in this direction.
He also said that best teachers have been selected for Danish Schools and he is confident that the trained teachers will discharge their responsibility of imparting education and training of the youth in a proper manner.
Shahbaz said that the whole nation will have to unite against drone attacks and 'even a long march will be staged if needed'. He noted that a bloodbath of innocent Pakistanis is being enacted in Waziristan, Bajore and other tribal areas.
He said that he is grateful to all those who had prayed for the recovery of Quaid Pakistan Muslim League, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Earlier, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of Daanish School Mosque and inaugurated the school. He also visited different sections of the school on the occasion.
