Thar coal power project to be launched next month

The First phase of the project to generate electricity from Thar coal will be launched next month. This was stated by the Secretary of Sindh Coal Authority, Aijaz Ali Khan, here on Saturday while briefing the participants of 94th National Management Course.
He said that Thal coal project is top priority of the Sindh government to meet electricity shortage in the country. He said that all work on the project would be executed under the supervision of Dr Samar Mubarakmand. Dr Samar has planned gasification project for generating the electricity from Thar coal reserve in first phase. Aijazd said that this gasification project would enable generation of 10,000 megawatts electricity from Thar coal by 2020.
