The Karachi Port handled 63,704 tonnes of cargo including 38,646 tonnes of import cargo, 25,058 tonnes of export cargo and 2,483 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 38,646 tonnes comprised of 24,374 tonnes of containerised cargo; 445 tonnes of general cargo; 845 tonnes of wheat and 12,982 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 25,058 tonnes comprised of 10,321 tonnes of containerised cargo; 54 tonnes of general cargo; 14,133 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,963 tonnes of cement; 11,170 tonnes of wheat and 550 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Seven ships namely Shamrock Jupiter, UACC Ibn Al-Ather, Marilyn, Kota Singa, Mittra Bhum, Eastern Frontier and Phoenix Island-II with two oil tankers, wheat carrier, two container ships and two general cargoes sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Manila Express, HS Challenger, STX Patriakos, De Shan, Yong Sheng and Topaz-II carrying three container ships, wheat carrier, general cargo and cement carrier respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely HS Challenger, STX Patriakos and Manila Express with three container ships respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while two ships namely Apuana-D and Yong Sheng carrying two general cargoes respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
A container vessel viz Kota Anggerik due to arrive on Thursday, while nine vessels viz MT Lahore, Di Sunflower, Ital Ottima, Shayan-1, OOCL Dalian, Ocean Jade, TC Gold, Marcherokee and Black Eagle with crude oil, jet oil, three container ships, DAP, coal, general cargo carrier and wheat carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 43,936 tonnes of cargo includes 22,360 tonnes of import cargo, 21,576 tonnes of export cargo and 2,623 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 22,360 tonnes includes 700 tonnes of chemicals and 21,660 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 21,576 tonnes includes 4,200 tonnes of wheat and 17,346 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three container ships namely CV MSC Aurelie, CV CMA CGM Quartz and CV Aruni Rickmers sailed out to sea on Thursday morning.
A total number of five vessels viz CV CMA CGM Quartz, CV Aruni Rickmers, CV MSC Aurelie, MV Alaska-II and MV Tycoon are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and wheat respectively during last 24 hours. Five ships namely Marguerite Rickmers, Orient-III, Sigloo Moon, Primo Stealth and Theresa Blossom carrying containers, cement, chemicals, furnace oil and palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of three vessels viz MT Primo Stealth, MT Theresa Blossom and MT Sigloo Moon carrying furnace oil, palm oil and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at FOTCO Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday. Three ships namely CV Marguerite Rickmers, CV APL Chile and MT Chemroad Nova due to arrive on Thursday, while four more ships namely CV Glory, CV MSC Magali, MT Pertiwi and MV Shinyo Ayush are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
