Interdepartmental floral competition at UVAS

The Lahore College for Women University Chairman chemistry department Professor Dr Rukhshanda Nawaz inaugurated interdepartmental floral competition at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Wednesday.
Dean faculty of veterinary sciences Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad, Chairman Director research Professor Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Director university diagnostic laboratory Professor Dr Masood Ahmad Rabbani, UVAS registrar Professor Dr Kamran Ashraf and a large number of UVAS students, and flower lower were present at the occasion.
After inauguration, Professor Dr Rukhshanda Nawaz went round the flower arena and examined the decoration of the departments. She also admired presentation of flowers and outstanding decoration of the parasitology, microbiology, anatomy, pathology departments and institute of pharmaceutical sciences (IPS). She lauded the idea of holding spring festival to provide entertainment and recreation to the students and faculty staff during the spring.
The floral competition was won by parasitalogy department, while IPS and anatomy stood second position and microbiology got third position. While to celebrate the spring gala, the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) is holding an inter-department various competitions.
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences performing art society Natak Mandali organised Dramatic competition. The event was held under the aegis of UVAS Natak Mandli Chairman Dr Asim Khaild. As many as 10 departments including DVM, Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS), Microbiology, Poultry, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (IBBT), Pathology, Dairy, Nutrition and livestock and Business Management participated.
The students from DVM third year got first position and second and third positions were also remained DVM forth year and evening. Farna Aziz awarded best actor regarding the play "Maa Muje Maf Kerday" and best actor for male category Zeshan awarded best actor of the character of Bhola.
"May God bless wisdom to country's political leaders and enable them to take political decisions in the best interest of the nation" Dr Nawaz said adding that the HEC had brought revolution in promoting the cause of quality education and research across the country on uniform basis" said UVAS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz.
