Weather remains dry in most parts of country

Mercury rose to 37.2 degree celsius here on Sunday as plains of Punjab and Sindh experienced a hot day which was good for maturity of Rabi crops including strategic wheat, oil seeds, grams, etc. Meteorological department said here on Sunday that weather remained dry in most parts of the country. However isolated light rain/thunderstorm occurred
in Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Malakand divisions and Kashmir.
Nawabshah was the hottest place in the country with the temperature of 43.C whereas highest maximum temperature in Punjab 38.3 C was recorded at Rahimyar Khan. In Sindh province mercury rose above/near 40 centigrade at Larkana 42 C, Dadu 41, Sukkur, Padidan, Hyderabad and Chhor, 40.5 C and Jacobabad, and Mir Pur Khas 39.C.
In its forecast for Monday, Met office predicted isolated rain with dust-thundershower in North Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir whereas dry weather is expected elsewhere in country.
