Sports activities are imperative for uniform forces, which will not only provide them entertainment, but also help them to be physically fit- a requirement of their challenging job. This was stated by Wajid Ali Durrani Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad here on Friday, while opening the All Pakistan Police Jan Nisar Cricket Tournament, adding that such activities should continue in future.
Punjab Police and Islamabad Police Lines played the opening match of the three-day tournament organised by Islamabad Police in which teams of Capital police force, provincial police departments, Highway police and Punjab Rangers are taking part.
A total of eight teams are participating in the tournament. Arrangements for the tournament have been made by AIG (Establishment) Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui and a special committee under his supervision including DSP Special Branch Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, DSP Rescue 15 Muhammad Safeer Bhatti, DSP (Traffic) Chaudhry Arshad Hussain, DSP Muhammad Afzal, Inspector Rasheed Niazi and Inspector Tariq Mehmud.
