'Sweden stopped supply of weapons to Pakistan in 1998'

Ulrika Sundberg Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan has said that Sweden stopped supply of weapons to Pakistan in 1998 when international community imposed sanctions on Pakistan against conducting nuclear tests.
After lifting the sanctions, Government of Pakistan did not ask the Sweden government to restore the supply of weapons to Pakistan. She said the exact volume of trade in defence production couldn't be identified as the agreements had been inked in the past.
While talking to the media persons during the 'Meet the Press' programme, she said that Sweden provided aid worth $ 100 million in humanitarian ground to Pakistan during the recent floods in Pakistan. An additional amount of $ 282 million was also provided by them. "Sweden is performing an active role by spending $ 14 million for the development of Waziristan", she replied to a question.
She maintained that 20,000 Pakistani students are getting their education in Sweden. Out of these 20,000 students, 3000 are completing their Ph.Ds. While 6000 are completing their master degrees there. To another question, she said, "The government of Sweden wants good relations between India and Pakistan both and there must be a peaceful solution of Kashmir issue", she said.
While answering a question about the desecration of Holy Quran in USA, she said that countries must respect all the religions and there should have a mutual understanding about the religious matters among the countries.
