Afridi vows to end batting woes

Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, who has starred with the ball but failed miserably with the bat at the World Cup, vowed to make amends in the quarter-final against the West Indies on Wednesday. Afridi is the tournament's leading bowler with 17 wickets with his fastish leg-breaks, but has contributed just 65 runs in six games.
"I myself have not batted well and will focus on that tomorrow. I know how important my batting is for the team and I will try to get some runs on the board." In Saturday's tense Group A win over defending champions Australia in Colombo, Afridi holed out to Brett Lee in the deep off Jason Krejza for just two. "That was an irresponsible shot as a captain at a stage like that," he admitted.
