Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Culture and IPC, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that there was vast business of carpet in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa therefore 'Carpet Nagar' would be set up in the province. He added that site for the proposed carpet nagar has been identified in Nisatta, District Charsadda and required funds for the same would be released very soon as it was not the personal interest of individual rather it was the interest of the province.
He was talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association led by Mamoor Khan at Peshawar on Wednesday. The minister said that the provincial government would support the economic activities and the business community in this regard would be given full support.
He maintained, unfortunately, the present government was facing problem of deteriorating law and order from day first due to which most of its funds were being spent on the security of the province. He added that it had badly affected the investment and economic activities in the province.
Mian Iftikhar said that restoration of peace was the top most priority of the provincial government and its efforts for the same would continue. He however, said that the provincial government would facilitate the business community as it had the key role in strengthening of the economy of the province.
The minister asserted that viable mega projects would be launched in the industrial sector where besides promoting local industry, general public would also be given necessary training so as to generate job opportunities for the locals. He assured that the provincial government would extend its all out support in holding the upcoming exhibition (18 - 20 March 2011) of precious stones in Peshawar. He further assured that he would arrange a meeting for the business community and commercial exporters with Chief Minsiter Ameer Haider Khan Hoti to resolve their problems on priority basis.
