Three dacoits and two policemen were killed in an encounter on Saturday night. According to police spokesman Arshad Nawaz, district police launched an operation in Sindh riverine and Katcha area in Sadiqabad tahsil.
A police team including Elite Force led by DPO Sohail Habib Tajik was taking part in the operation when during crossfiring between criminals and police, three dacoits and two cops-Muhammad Dawood and Sarfraz were killed.
The DPO said the police operation against criminals in border areas of Sindh and Punjab would continue till elimination of criminals wanted by police in heinous crimes including dacoity, murder, and kidnap for ransom.
