Munter telephones Nawaz

US Ambassador Cameron Munter on Saturday telephoned PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and sought his intervention for the release of US Consulate official Raymond Davis. Sources said the US diplomat expressed sorrow over the incident; however, he told the PML-N chief that the official being on diplomatic duties enjoyed immunity under the international law. Therefore, he may be given into the custody of US.
Sources claimed that the PML-N chief told the US Ambassador that the whole Pakistani nation was deeply grieved over the death of three Pakistanis. He also pointed out that the matter is sub judice.
