The New Zealand dollar was holding broad gains for the week on Friday, while the Australian dollar lagged as the market scaled back expectations for interest rate rises this year. NZ dollar hovering at $0.7715, after a hitting a $0.7668 high on Thursday, to be up over a cent for the week.
The Aussie sits just above two month low against the kiwi at NZ$1.2825 and has now given up all of its December gains which saw it as high as NZ$1.3505 at one stage. Aussie dollar eased to $0.9893 against Thursday's late local level of $0.9960, to be flat for the week. It ranged between $0.9876 and $0.9971 overnight.
