A broader public campaign against drugs would be launched using the internet, mobile phones, radio and TV mediums. An official of Ministry of Narcotics Control told APP here on Tuesday, that district, town committees comprising aforementioned segments also, will be formed to carry out mass education and community participation programmes.
"Community coalitions and anti-drug programmes operating in collaboration with NGOs will be encouraged and supported," he said. He said the ministry in collaboration with ministry of Religious Affairs would develop special courses on drug abuse prevention for students and teachers of madrassas.
He said that the leadership of all political parties and members of parliament would be engaged to play an active role in the drive. He said in order to be successful, both the drug supply reduction and drug demand reduction strategies required active and effective co-ordination and Cupertino between federal ministries and provincial governments.
