LHC summons AGP on January 27

A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Thursday summoned Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) on January 27 in some identical petitions filed by 26 members provincial and national assembly challenging their qualification. MPAs and MNAs have raised the issue that under article 225 of the constitution their qualification could be questioned only through an election petition.
They pointed out that the courts have entertained petition against them in violation of constitution.After hearing arguments, the bench headed by Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry has summoned AGP for next date of hearing.
