In order to curb the menace of human trafficking, particularly of women the following steps may be taken: Punishment for abducting/kidnapping innocent girls may be tremendously increased. Such cases may be referred to anti-terrorist courts for speedy trials.
A vigorous campaign of awareness among masses may be launched on electronic and print media. All provincial governments should set up Centralised Toll Free Phone Number in their capital cities for registering such cases. Such Centralised Reporting Centres must report such cases to the concerned DPOs asking them to report the cases within one week and such reports on a province-level be compiled and made public on a monthly basis. Those people who give clues or information leading to the arrest of culprits must be rewarded immediately.
