King Abdullah Appreciation Award ceremony held on January 12, at Makli Gymkhana, Thatta. The awards distribution ceremony was arranged by King Abdullah Relief Campaign for Pakistani People-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
After devastating flood, first time RAKz Communications organised "1st Humanitarian Excellence Awards ceremony" for the relief workers and organisations (NGOs/Foreign Missions), including King Abdullah Relief Campaign to recognise and acknowledge their efforts and contribution of the rehabilitation activities to the flood-affected areas of Pakistan.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Aziz I.S. Al Ghadeer realised the RAKz efforts and welfare activities for nominating the King Abdullah Appreciation Award. Umair Hussain received the award and certificate on behalf of the Chairperson-RAKz Communications (Pvt) Limited from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia-King Abdullah Relief Campaign for Pakistani People among huge numbers of applauds.
During distribution of awards, Farid Ahmed (Project Director Reconstruction) said, Saudi Arabia was the first nation to respond to the call of the government of Pakistan for supplying relief to the flood-hit victims. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia headed 500 Saudi teams that organised and supervised the relief operations. According to one estimate, the Saudi relief, when completed, would be around 402 million of Saudi Riyal.
In fact King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz ordered an air bridge to devastated areas, including 30 planes to KP, 14 to Punjab and Balochistan and 16 cargo planes 747 to Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
