District Co-ordination Officer, Faisalabad Naseem Sadiq has said that the total current financial budget of city district government is rupees 1,5061 million under which process of public service and development has continued. Funds of Rs.1.32 billion are being spent on city road rehabilitation programme under Chief Minister's Punjab package.
Welcoming a 35-member delegation of under training officers of Management & Professional Development Departmental Academy, which visited the industrial city, he said that various initiatives have been taken for urban development, and welfare of people and uplift of the district, which have been fruitful.
He informed that the computerised registration management system in the revenue department, the first ever in Punjab, is a revolutionary step of city district government Faisalabad. He claimed that through this scientific system, practices of forgery and fraud could be eliminated.
Sadiq said that establishment of under pass at Abdullapur Chowk for smooth flow of traffic is under consideration while a new colony has been established at Chak No.8 Sargodha road for accommodating illegal occupants of state land. He informed that a development programme has been initiated for widening of important chowks of the city, while slip roads are being constructed for proper management traffic. He termed removal of illegal transport stand at Abdullapur Chowk and illegal possession on state land near Masjid Subhanalla GM Abad as big achievements of the administration.
The DCO highlighted the achievements in livestock, agriculture, solid waste management and other departments during his tenure and said that concerned departments have been mobilised for eradicating beggary, narcotics and adulteration. He also apprised about the progress of recovery of government's dues and said that under the devised policies, targets are being achieved. Under these, he added, state agriculture land was allotted to agri graduates, adding that work is in progress for establishment of Ashiana Housing and Jinnah Abadi Scheme.
He said that the committed, devoted team of officers is working in the district, which is very much committed to deliver excellent services for the welfare of masses and development of the district. He claimed complete co-ordination among different departments of district government including police. He appreciated performance of the academy and said it is playing a vibrant role in the capacity building of the officers through advance training. Deputy Secretary Academy, Ejaz Minhas thanked the DCO and his team for according a warm welcome to them, saying that the comprehensive briefing would be helpful for the participants in their learning endeavours.
