The fog and chill has taken over markets enforcing seasonal changes like moong, masoor and particularly dry fruits touching skies during the week ended on January 15, 2011. On Monday Irri 6 low type went down by Rs 30 to Rs 3370, while better type shed Rs 25 to Rs 3400, cottonseed cakes low quality was unchanged at Rs 1260, while better type was lower by Rs 15 to Rs 1275.
On Tuesday makai low type put at Rs 2625, while the other type was gainer by Rs 100 to Rs 2750, gur low type picked up Rs 100 to Rs 6900, while the other type stayed put at Rs 7200, cotton cakes fine quality rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1300.
On Wednesday moong Punjab rose sharply by Rs 250 to Rs 9750, masoor Canada shed Rs 300 to Rs 6500, urad Burma was quoted at Rs 3400 and Rs 3800. Gur low type was put Rs 6700, while the better type was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 7300. Grams Australia low type lost Rs 150 to Rs 5250, while better type was down by Rs 200 to Rs 545. Gram dal Australia inferior type shed Rs 400 to Rs 6200, while superior type was down by Rs 450 to Rs 6400, gram 50x50 rose by Rs 50 to Rs 5650, while the other variety was quoted at Rs 5850. Yellow peas Ukraine low type was unchanged at Rs 3050, while the other type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3200. Yellow peas dal Ukraine up Rs 50 to Rs 3450, while the better type was quoted at Rs 3650. Irri 6 Sindh low type lost Rs 45 to Rs 3325, while the other type was down by Rs 50 to Rs 3350. Cotton cakes with bag low type shed Rs 30 to Rs 1260, while the other type was quoted at Rs 1300.
On Jodia Bazaar jute goods twine (per kg) 20x30 brown ended lower by Rs 2 to Rs 100, 16x3 CRT/Indus scaled down by Rs 2 to Rs 100, 8x3 ended down Rs 10 to Rs 160, while 40x2 brown ended lower by Rs 10 to Rs 160 and 40x2 brown ended lower by Rs 2 to Rs 98.
On Thursday Sela Basmati rose by Rs 300 to Rs 5800, while better type gained Rs 400 to Rs 6000. Irri 6 Sindh rose by Rs 25 to Rs 3350 and Rs 3375. Rapeseeds Nawabshah was quoted at Rs 2350 and Rs 2375. Cakes rose by Rs 10 to Rs 950 and Rs 960.
On Jodia Bazaar dry fruits rose such as (per 40 kg) Chaman almond rose Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 to Rs 18000, almond girdi up Rs 1000 to Rs 5000, Kaghzi (Giri) up Rs 600 to Rs 5000, Kaghzi Wahidi up Rs 6000 to Rs 28,000 and Kaghzi I ended up by Rs 2000 to Rs 12,000.
On Friday prices of all commodities were unchanged on the wholesale grain and seed market as leading participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers, grain and seed merchant group's release said.
On Jodia Bazaar chemical items closed mixed. The variations were: CHEMICAL ITEMS (Per kg): Caustic soda flakes Saudi was quoted at Rs 46, sodium sulphate edged down by 50 paisa to Rs 14.50, N J Taiwan went higher by Rs 7 to Rs 233, formic acid Pak closed lower by Re 1 to Rs 101, formic acid Germany finished up by Re 1 to Rs 104 and citric acid China went higher by Re 1 to Rs 110.
On Saturday grams prices fluctuated on the wholesale grain and seed market in process of slow trading. Grams Australia was down by Rs 50 to Rs 5200-5400. Grams dal Australia followed the same path losing same amount to Rs 6150-6350. Yellow peas Canada, was higher by Rs 25 to Rs 3175-3325. Yellow peas dal Canada also gained the same amount to Rs 3525-3675, yellow peas Ukrain picked up Rs 25 to Rs 3075-3225 and yellow peas dal Ukrain rose by Rs 25 to Rs 3475-3625, other items maintained the same levels during the day. On the seed side cottonseeds oilcake with bag inferior type shed Rs 10 to Rs 1250, while the best type did not show any change in the overnight level at Rs 1300.
On Jodia Bazaar jute goods twine edged down. The changes were:. HESSIAN CLOTH (Per 91.44 meter): 45x10 Amin closed lower by Rs 200 to Rs 3,300, 45x11 went down by Rs 150 to Rs 3,450, 50x9 Thul moved downward by Rs 100 to Rs 3,200, 45x9 finished lower by Rs 100 to Rs 3,200, 50x8 Thul edged down by Rs 50 to Rs 2,950 and 45x8 moved downward by Rs 50 to Rs 2,950.
