High prices cause sluggish business on grain market

Subdued business was again witnessed on the wholesales grain and seed market on Tuesday as most of buyers were reluctant in making any deal at the higher rates, dealers said. On the cereal side makai low type maintained its overnight level at Rs 2625 while the best quality was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 2750.
Gur low type picked up Rs 100 to Rs 6700 while the good type stayed put at the 7200, other items did not move any other in process of trading, they said. On seed side cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type rose by Rs 30 to Rs 1290 and fine quality was up higher by Rs 25 to Rs 1300, rice and grams sectors maintained their overnight levels during the lacklustre session, they added.
