Workers of religious party hold protest demonstrations

LAHORE: Supporters of a religious party on Saturday staged protest demonstrations at various places in provincial metropolis.

The protesters started their protest against the operation in Faizabad, Islamabad, at Imamia Colony, Shahdara, Data Darbar, Ferozpur Road, The Mall, and others places.

They burnt tyres and blocked the Metro Bus route at various places besides railway tracks.

However, police officials attempted to disperse them to which the protesters hurled stones on them.

SSP Operations, Muntazir Mehdi directed Policemen to arrest protesters who blocked the Metro route and the railway tracks.

Several protesters had also been arrested by the police, the sources said.
