NH&MP recover lost cash, valuables

National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP), N-5 Central has returned more than 300,000 rupees of cash and valuable item worth more than Rs 70,000 thousand to their respective owners. In a separate incident, the police saved precious life and property by putting out fire off a wooden cottage.
The officers of NH&MP, namely SPO Masood-Ur-Rehman and PO Shahzbaz Hussain were on their routine patrolling when they found a sack containing electric heater and two bags lying at the road near Sahiwal. One bag contained laptop worth more than 50,000 and the other bag contained cash worth 300,000 rupees.
DIG NH&MP, Syed Ibne Hussain directed the officers to return the lost items to their real owners after necessary and careful verification. The officers took the luggage into their custody and started searching for its owner. After hectic struggle, the officers found the owners of the luggage boarding in a bus proceeding to Islamabad.
The names of the owners came to be known as Waqar Haider R/O Islamabad (0342-3000005) and Iftikhar Ali Khan R/O Rawalpindi (0322-5043749), who were very grateful to and appreciated the honesty of the patrolling officers. In another incident, officers of NH&MP beat 22 Zahir Pir M. Akram and M. Zubeir saw a cottage adjacent to road catching fire. They officers immediately responded to the incident and with the assistance of people living in the vicinity, extinguished fire by pouring water and sand on it. Imtiaz R/O, Zahir Pir who was trapped in the fire inside the cottage was relieved. He was very thankful to motorway police for their humanitarian effort.
