New IGP police calls on Shahbaz

New Inspector General Punjab Police Javed Iqbal called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here on Saturday. Talking on this occasion, Chief Minister said that protection of life and property of people and provision of immediate and cheep justice is top priority of the government and no effort should be spared in this regard.
He said that change in Thana culture should be made as a source of provision of justice. He said that such atmosphere should be created in police stations where poor and common people could go without any fear for getting justice and help. He said besides equipping police force with modern equipment's and latest training, all facilities have also been provided to it and now police should ensure provision of justice to the people without any discrimination. He said that supremacy of merit has been ensured in the province and all recruitment's in the police have been made only and only on merit.
He said that we have provided resources and increased the salaries of the police even by reducing our necessary expenses and now it is the responsibly of the police to come up to the expectations of the people and provide them justice on their doorstep. The Chief Minister, while assigning the special task of eradication kidnapping for ransom from the province to the new Inspector General of Police, said that he should ensure effective action against the gangs involved in such crimes and a special cell comprising of highly experienced and professional officers should be set up for this purpose. Elimination of corruption should be ensured and strict accountability system in police should be adopted, he added.
He said that Inspector General of Police is a professional and competent officer and he should take such steps that the common man should realise that police is their servant in real sense and is always ready for their help. He said that IG Police should utilise all his professional abilities for bringing change in Thana culture, provision of justice to the people and promotion of community policing. Inspector General of Police Javed Iqbal said that he will Inshallah try his level best to come up to the confidence reposed in him. He said that he would utilise all his capabilities for bringing change in Thana culture, curbing crimes, supremacy of merit and purging the department of corruption.
